Powhatan Secondary of Williamsburg

Meeting Room:
(See below for Meeting Room availability 2008 dates)

PCSA has a meeting room with bathroom facility on the second floor of our Multi-Use Building. The room is heated and air-conditioned, is ample for a group of 15 or less [has four 6' tables and 16 chairs] …. but was not designed to be "handicap-friendly" (i.e., has steep stairs). We envision its future use by those who do not need handicap access or kitchen facility, have only a small group and prefer a lesser fee than the Clubhouse. The PCSA Board of Directors has adopted the following policy for use of this room:

  • Use Free of Charge …. will be extended to a group benefiting our community's youth [such as Cub Scouts, Brownies, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Church youth group, etc] when the sponsor is a PCSA member in good standing and a majority of the participants are from Powhatan Secondary. The sponsor must complete the proper application, provide a $25 damage deposit, and accept responsibility for maintaining the facility in proper order.

  • Rental (in all instances, the sponsor must be a PCSA member, complete the proper application, provide a $25 damage deposit, and accept responsibility for maintaining the facility in proper order):

    a. Children's Birthday Parties. When the party is of a size and make-up that rental of the Club House with kitchen facilities is not needed or desired, the Multi-Use Bldg meeting room can be rented for up to a four hour period for $10 (minimum fee).

    b. Craft-Type Activity. This use envisions a group whose activity (1) is "non-threatening" to the facility [e.g., small water-color painting class] (2) does not require handicap access, and (3) is able to support a small rental fee but not sufficient to rent the Clubhouse. The fee for a period of up to four hours would be $10 (minimum).

There may be some desired use of the facility which could have a detrimental impact on its care and maintenance. In such situations, final decision rests with the PCSA Board of Directors.
